A high-stakes venture from Yash Raj Films, Vijay Krishna Acharya's 'Thugs Of Hindostan' (2018) conspicuously aimed for the grand historical adventure genre. The film spared no expense in its opulent production design and visual effects, conjuring a vibrant 18th-century setting. However, despite the formidable presence of cinematic titans like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, the narrative of rebellion against the East India Company ultimately lacked the necessary coherence and emotional resonance.
